Where are we going?!
To Liechtenstein, a microstate chock-full of giant mountains! Blink and you’ll miss this tiny Alpine country (160 km2 and not one meter more) – which would be a shame. This could very well be the steepest country in the world: anyone who wants to discover Liechtenstein’s interior will have to climb from the Rhine Valley, choosing between winding roads of precipitous hairpin bends or dizzying footpaths clinging to the mountainside.
Why would I want to go there?
Country collectors get their passport stamped in Vaduz before hurriedly leaving this dwarf of a country; hardcore Alpinists opt for more extreme peaks in neighboring Austria and Switzerland. Not tot hier en verder: we’re in for a total surprise. We will show you all of Liechtenstein!
And that’s quite a lot, actually. Join us across the entire country, from Balzers’ vineyards in the deep south to castle ruins in the barren north, a good 20 kilometers or so away. Spot chamois and whistling Murmeltiere while hiking in the Alps, hike to mountain huts and the majestic Naafkopf and ignore your cell phone when crossing a national border yet again.
